Ralph “Lamar” Loftin, Jr, 68, of Hartford, went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 2nd at Southeast Alabama Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 5th, at 2:00 PM at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Hartford. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, September 4th 5:00-7:00 PM at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Hartford.
Lamar was born October 23, 1948 and lived in Hartford his entire life. Lamar graduated from Geneva County High School in 1967. He attended Troy State University before returning to Hartford to begin his career and life with his wife Dianne. He worked as a systems analyst at several locations including Fleming Foods and finishing up his career with his longest tenure being at Ansell. Lamar was devoted to his family, and loved and respected by all who knew him.
Lamar was preceded in death by his parents Ralph Lamar (Short) Loftin, Sr and Jacqueline Peters Loftin.
Lamar is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dianne G. Loftin; his children Dana Loftin Wesson (Michael Penix) and Clint (Monica) Loftin; grandchildren; Lindsay Wesson (Aaron Ellis) and Kennedi Loftin; great grandchild Mason Ellis; brothers Don Loftin and John Loftin; Mother and Father-in-law Joe and Betty Gissendanner; sisters-in-law JoAnnette (Joe) Feltman and Betty Jean (Ken) Chancey; along with many special friends and family.
