Randy Lavoy Kirkland of Geneva, AL, passed away at his home on Monday, October 14, 2024. He was 65.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2024 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva. Burial will follow in Leddon Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.

Randy was born in Geneva, AL on November 06, 1958 to the late Franklin Levoy and Betty Jo Braswell Kirkland, where he lived his whole life. He was a graduate of Geneva High School, class of 1977. He recently retired after a long career as a truck driver, which gave him the opportunity to see the country. Randy was extremely proud of his daughters’ education, career achievements, but most of all, their character. He was faithful to attend as many school functions as possible, despite work keeping him busy on the road. He was quick with a joke and telling rambling stories. He was passionate about music and attended many live concerts, even being mistaken for Travis Tritt at one in the 1990’s. This was fitting because he was a huge Tritt music fan. Randy loved Bama Football and would talk about it all year long. He grew up farming and later loved growing tomatoes in his spare time. Above all of this, Randy’s heart’s delight was his granddaughter.

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by one niece, Callie Deanna Bryan Siggers and two nephews, Jonathon Lloyd Stone and Marshall Codie McCormick; and father-in-law, Rex Hallford, Jr.

Randy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lori Ann Hallford Kirkland; two daughters, Krystal Ann Kirkland Pierson (Josh) and Dr. Randi Leigh Kirkland; granddaughter, Mary Maddox “Maddie” Pierson; sisters, Callie Faye Bryan, Rhonda Jo Stone and Mary Janet McCormick; nephew, Calvin Lavoy Bryan; niece, Hope Jenece McCormick; mother-in-law, Mary Hallford; brothers-in-law, Rodney Hallford, Jimmie Bryan and David Wayne McCormick; and several cousins, extended relatives and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Calvin Bryan, Andy Braswell, Tony Yarbrough, Jeffery Hudspeth, Brian Hudspeth, Randy Barnes, Ted Smith, and James Wilson.
