Ray Edward Tew, 79, of Camilla, GA, formerly of Pelham, GA and Geneva, AL, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla.

There will be a  visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla, Ga.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. (CST) at Friendship Baptist Church, Geneva, AL with Rev. Reggie McCallister officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m.   

Born September 3, 1938 in Geneva County, AL, Mr. Tew was the son of the late Edgar Alexander Tew and Dewie Etta Peak Tew. He was married to the late Alice Faye Dickinson Tew.  Mr. Tew graduated from Coffee Springs High School and Troy State University.  He retired as an insurance agent for Liberty National Life Insurance Company.  Mr. Tew was a member of the Pelham Lions Club, having served as past president and also the Pelham High School Touchdown Club and the Tip-Off Club.  He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Pelham and a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Geneva, AL, where he served as a deacon.  Mr. Tew was an avid golfer and a die hard Alabama fan.

Survivors include a son, Jason E. Tew of Nashville, GA;  three daughters, Pam Boswell (Jimmy) of Leesburg, LaDonna Delk (Jack) of Camilla, and Teresa Tew of Scottdale, GA;  a brother, Troy Tew (Sandra) of Pelham, AL;  three grandchildren, Zachary Delk, Elizabeth Delk, and Logan S. Tew;  a sister-in-law, Betty Seago of Samson, AL;  nephews, Wade Seago and Tragg Tew;  a niece, Tara Tew;  and a special friend, Janice Reynolds of Enterprise, AL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 5434 N. Hwy 27, Geneva, AL 36340 and Lake Pleasant Baptist Church, 3407 John Collins Rd., Pelham, GA 31779.
