Ray Neal Mitchell of Bonifay, FL (Bethlehem Community) passed away on Friday, August 09, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was 85.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Carmel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jerry Moore, Rev. Jonathan West and Rev. Tommy Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Ray Neal was born in Hartford, AL on January 03, 1939 to the late Theodus Jack and Bessie Lee Mitchell. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, raising cattle, riding horses and traveling. Mr. Mitchell was widely known for his abilities in construction and custom home building. His skills for building were truly second to none. He was a faithful, life-long member of Carmel Assembly of God Church, where he served as deacon and various other positions that he held over the years. He loved his church, his family and possessed the heart of a true servant.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leroy, James “Jim” and Marvin Mitchell; two sisters, Ruth Mitchell Vickers and Rebecca Mitchell Thompson.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife and childhood sweetheart of 68 years, Keron Ellen Miller Mitchell of Bonifay, FL (Bethlehem Community); one daughter, Kathy Mitchell Blalock (Kenny) and one son, Kevin Neal Mitchell (Janet), all of Bonifay, FL (Bethlehem Community); four grandchildren, Kelly Rae Blalock, Kendall Lee Blalock, Keron Elizabeth Mitchell and Kruz Neal Mitchell; three great grandchildren, Cheyenne Miller, Paden Miller and Sadie Rose Cristan; one sister, Betty Sue Mitchell Johnson of Bonifay, FL and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
