REAMOUS  JACKSON  ROBINSON




CAPPS COMMUNITY. . .Reamous Jackson Robinson, a resident of the Capps Community of Henry County, died Tuesday afternoon, September 10, 2013, in a Dothan hospital. He was 80.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 12, 2013, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Danny Quincey and Reverend Ray S. Reiley officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, near Abbeville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Abbeville.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, c/o Henry Reynolds, 3945 County Road 40, Newville, AL 36353 or to the Sardis Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Brenda Roberson, 538 County Road 23, Abbeville, AL 36310.


            Reamous Robinson was born and reared in Henry County, son of the late Buck Austin Robinson and Gladys Marie Tew Robinson. He was a graduate of Abbeville High School. Mr. Robinson served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War era and also in the Army Reserve in the Abbeville unit. He lived in the Capps Community most of his lifetime. Mr. Robinson was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was retired from Slingluff Construction Company as a Job Superintendent. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his wife, Hettie Singletary Robinson, a son, William Austin Robinson, and a brother, Coleman Robinson.


            Surviving relatives include three sisters, Catherine Jeanette Carpenter (Rotain), DeFuniak Springs, FL; Betty Bailey (Earl), Riverdale, GA; and Brenda Roberson (Randy), Abbeville; a brother, Richard Robinson, Eufaula; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary and Truette Hamm, Freddie and Roger Scott, Otto and Bobbie Singletary, and Joe and Malisa Singletary; several nieces and nephews.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Nick Singletary, Craig Singletary, Richard Roberson, James Roberson, Terry Robinson and Greg Robinson.
