Rebecca Ann Driskell Baxley, age 77, of Wicksburg, Al. passed away January 3, 2016, at Flowers Hospital after suffering from COPD.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, January 7, 2016 in Pilgrim Home Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Hood officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at Ward Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 6 2016 from 6 P.M to 8 P.M. Flowers will be accepted.
Rebecca “Boots” as she was always called was born in Houston County March 6, 1938. She was a graduate of Wicksburg High School. She was married to the late J.C. Baxley for over 60 years. She traveled with her husband and seen and lived in many places all over the world and overseas. After her husband retired from the US Navy in 1974 they resided in Wicksburg. She loved her life, family, friends, and her animals. She had a close relationship with Jesus and spoke to him often.
Survivors include one daughter, Becky Bernhard (Frank) of Wicksburg, one son, Ronnie Baxley (Brenda) of Wicksburg, one brother, Jerry Driskell of Enterprise, 6 grandchildren, Meshell Plouffe (Roger) of Yulee FL, Michael Bond of Wicksburg, Mandy Bond (Randy) of Norfolk Va., Jayseth Baxley (Hope) of Montgomery Al, Tori Parson (Davy) of Nashville, TN, Hayden Baxley (Andrea) of Wicksburg, 8 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Emily Stuteville, Madison Bond, Roger Plouffe, Hadley Baxley, Ruby Parsons , Brody and Bentley Baxley.
She is preceded in death by her husband J.C. Baxley, parents, Brack and Vera Driskell, one sister, Betty Nelson, one brother, Comer Driskell.
