Mrs. Rebecca Jane Hughes Willoughby, a resident of the Rocky Head Community, passed away Sunday morning, March 28, 2021, in Madison Heights Memory Care Community.  She was 82 years old.


Funeral services for Mrs. Willoughby will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 1, 2021, from Rocky Head Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Weed and Reverend Joe Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends Thursday in the church from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Active pallbearers will be Colt Cadwell, Jeremy Tisdale, Evan Willoughby, Hunter Friday, Tapin Fullbright and Josiah Fullbright.


Mrs. Willoughby was born February 25, 1939 in Ozark, Alabama to the late William G. Hughes and Mary Whitman Hughes. Mrs. Willoughby spent many years working as a loan teller at The Bank of Ozark and then with SouthTrust Bank in Ozark. She was an active member of Rocky Head Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and working with children. Everyone who knew her spoke of her kindness and sweet demeanor.  Mrs. Willoughby was married to her devoted and loving husband, LuMax Willoughby, for 62 years.  More than anything though, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved and cared for her family.  They will sorely miss her.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mascus Hughes; and three sisters, Martha Alexander, Bessie Helms and Mellonae Willis.


She is survived by her husband, LuMax Willoughby, three children, Donna (Philip) Cadwell, Susan (Jimmy) Tisdale and Gary (Jennifer) Willoughby; five grandchildren, Colt (Alex) Cadwell, Jeremy (Jaymie) Tisdale, Sarah (Hunter) Friday, Olivia Willoughby and Evan Willoughby; one great grandson, Grayson Tisdale; and one sister, Frances Wilson.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.


The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff of Madison Heights Memory Care in Enterprise, Alabama.
