ABBEVILLE. . .Rebecca Marlow Benton, a resident of Abbeville, died early Monday afternoon, June 20, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. She was 80.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 23, 2022, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Harold Pettis and Brother B. J. Dailey officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the mortuary. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 P.M. (EDT), Thursday, in the Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Alabama.

Mrs. Benton was born in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of the late Earl Hardwick Marlow and Rosemary Smith Marlow. She lived in Dothan before moving to Henry County, near Abbeville, thirty years ago. Mrs. Benton was a member of the New Testament Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Junior Benton, a son, Timothy Benton, and a brother, David Marlow.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Angela Dailey (B.J.), two sons, Joel Benton and David Benton (Brenda), all of Abbeville; two grandchildren, Amanda Williams (Jason), and Billy Dailey, Jr., three great-grandchildren, Aricka, Jaiden and Ethan Williams.
