Rebecca Newby

Rebecca Newby, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020. She was 82 years old.

Mrs. Newby was born on May 17, 1938 in Yaphank, New York and lived the early years of her life there. She was an avid seamstress and her love of sewing led her to work in the fashion industry in New York. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was active in the door to door ministry. In her early 20’s, she was part of special ministry work in the Carolina’s before getting married. Mrs. Newby came to the South Pioneer Ministry in 1970. Mrs. Newby was a loving and devoted wife and mother; she was passionate about making sure her family was well taken care of. Her wit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Keith Newby; her son, Seth Newby; her daughter, Judith (Roy) Seay; and her four grandchildren, Seth Newby, Jr., Devin Newby, Rebecca Newby, and Emily Newby.
