Rebecca Ransom, 51, formerly of Dothan passed away Monday July 6, 2015 in El Paso, Texas.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday on July 11, 2015 at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 5-7 pm.

Ms. Rebecca Smith Ransom was born to Lillie and Clarence Smith on February 2, 1964 in Dothan, Alabama. Rebecca received her high school diploma from Dothan High School with the class of 1982. Rebecca accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age and faithfully gave honor to God for His many blessings. She lived much of her adult life in Jacksonville, Florida where she worked logistics at Sears Warehouse for several years. In her last years, Rebecca devoted her time and love to her four daughters and her grandchildren.

Rebecca departed this life on July 6, 2015. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Smith.

She leaves to cherish her sweet memory: her beloved mother, Lillie Smith (Dothan, AL); four loving daughters, Erica Ransom (Baton Rouge, LA), Kayla Ransom (El Paso, TX), Jatavia Ransom (Atlanta, GA), and Kenniecka Ransom (Mobile, AL). Seven adoring grandchildren: Kwentin Ransom (14), Rylee Thomas (8), Kennedi Ransom (7), Nylah Russ (4), Skylah Williams (3), Gabrielle Williams (1), and Khylee Suggs (due September). Four wonderful sisters: Adelle Smith (Dothan, AL), Angela Smith (Birmingham, AL), Vanessa Dawkins (Dothan, AL), and Evelyn Brunson Dothan, AL; Two caring brothers: Norris Smith (Atlanta, GA) and Benjamin Smith (Dothan, AL); and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
