Renee Arndt Smith, 44 a resident of Dothan, AL passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at Evangelical Friends Church in Eagle Springs, NC. Graveside services will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday August 1, 2015 from 2-3 pm at Sunset Funeral Home in Dothan, AL.
Renee was born May 28, 1971 in Orlando, FL and was raised there. While attending grade school she became a skilled pianist; performing in a state wide recital, where she received the Gold Cup. She graduated in 1989 from Edgewater High School. While at school, she played the trumpet and performed in the Flag Corps. She also attended the Orlando Community Vocational School, where she was trained to be a dental assistant. In 1990, Renee married Troy Smith. Renee was a devoted Christian and was very involved in her faith. She attended St. Mark's Lutheran Church and was active in that church's youth program, as well as a member of the church's altar services. She was also active in the youth group at College Park Baptist Church. While living in Dothan, AL, she attended Harvest Church.
Survivors include her son Andrew Taylor Smith; Parents, Hilda and Sonny Arndt, Ronald and Barbara Day; grandparents, Blennie Williams and Evelyn Hodge; a grandaughter, Charlise Lorraine Smith; brothers, Matthew Arndt, Matthew Day, and Nathan Day; Sister, Julie Vaughan; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
