Retired LTC Alvin Lee Solomon of Enterprise, died Monday, November 21, 2011, at his residence. He was 81.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Searcy Funeral Home Chapel in Enterprise with Reverend David Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery in Dothan with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends at Searcy Funeral Home in Enterprise on Friday, November 25, 2011, from 5 to 7 P.M. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Luke UMC Building Fund, or to your favorite charity.
Mr. Solomon was born October 20, 1932, in McAllen, Texas, the son of the late Clyde T. Solomon and Florence Cannon Solomon. He has been a member of the St. Luke United Methodist Church for the past 20 years, and retired from the US Army after serving two tours in Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Poole Solomon of Enterprise; daughter, Alice Solomon of Enterprise; sons, Rhett Solomon and his wife, Phyllis of Gadsden, AL; Darrell Solomon and his wife, Brenda of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Barbara Evans of Corpus Christi, TX; brothers, Tommy Solomon and his wife, Deanna of Corpus Christi, TX; Allen Gene Solomon and his wife, Carolyn of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Eric Solomon and his wife, JoAnne of Enterprise; Chris Solomon and his wife, Felicia of Enterprise; Sheena Landers and her husband, Brandon of Gadsden; Tiarra Armenta and her husband, Eric of Oklahoma City, OK; Tiffany Solomon of Oklahoma City, OK; and seven great-grandchildren.
