Rev. Billy Joe Glover, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at St. Vincents Hospital. He resided in Alabaster, Alabama, at the time of his passing.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Dothan First Assembly of God with Rev. Charlie Glover, Rev. Tommy Conner, and Rev. David Strahan officiating. Burial will follow in Highfalls Assembly of God Cemetery in Hartford with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at Dothan First Assembly of God Saturday beginning at 11:00 and continuing until service time.
Billy was born April 21, 1938, in Geneva County. He attended Geneva County High School and received a Masters Degree from Southeastern University. He pastored churches in Florida and Alabama before serving as the Superintendent of the Assemblies of God in Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.E. and Lora Mae Glover; four sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Wise Glover, originally from Elba; two daughters: Lori Glover Conner (Tommy Conner) of Alabaster, and Susan Glover Strahan (David Strahan) of Montgomery; Brett Kyle Glover (Tonnie Glover) of Alabaster; two brothers: Charlie Earl Glover of Punta Gorda, FL, and Eddie Foy Glover of Dothan; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
