Rev. Hubert C. “Dick” Dickinson, age 80, a resident of Ashford died Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Hatley Health Care in Clanton, AL. following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon (EDT) Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Good Shepherd Memorial Chapel, Ocala FL. with Rev. Dennis Singletary officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors with Glover Funeral Home directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to Gideons International, 719 Griffin Rd, Chipley, FL. 32428, Alzheimer’s Association P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, AL. 36302, or to Comfort Care Hospice, 245 Cahaba Valley Pkwy, Pelham, AL. 35124.
Rev. Dickinson was born on June 23, 1935 in Anselmo, NE. the son of Charles Dickinson and Ethel G. Case Dickinson. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and retired as a MSGT from United States Air Force. After retirement he was called to preach and pastored churches in FL, GA, and AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Carol Campbell and Dorothy Gotschell.
Survivors include: wife of 58 years, Jeanette Hickman Dickinson, Clanton, AL.; 3 sons, Edward L. Dickinson (Jeanette), Columbiana, Al.; Daniel R. Dickinson, Dothan, AL., Larry W. Dickinson (Rose), Tacoma, WA.; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
