Rev. William Franklin “Bill” Odom of Geneva, Alabama went home to receive his heavenly reward on Tuesday, March 03, 2015. He was 75.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Ken Barber officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015, in the Pine Crest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marianna, Florida, with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Geneva, Thursday March 5, 2015, beginning at 2 p.m. and continue until service time.
Rev. Odom was born October 22, 1939, in Henry County, Alabama to the late Charlie Christopher and Myrtie Smith Odom. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in his vegetable garden. He loved the Lord and was an ordained minister with the Alabama and Florida Assemblies of God for 43 years. Pastoring was his whole heart. His ministry was evident, not only in the life he lived, but also to everyone he came in contact with. He was a very loving and devoted, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Bro. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, two brothers, Terrell Odom and Raymond Givens, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Clara Kennington Odom of Geneva, AL; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ken Barber of Marianna, FL; one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Jill Odom of Dothan, AL; four grandchildren: Ken David (Ashley) Barber, Kaylena Barber all of Marianna, Hannah Odom and Laura Odom both of Dothan, AL; two great-grandchildren: Landon David Barber and Kensley Nichole Barber both of Marianna, FL; one sister, Loutrell Gilbert of Bonifay, FL; his special canine companion “Gi Gi”; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
