Rev. Willie B. Williams (“Rev.”) of Dothan passed away September 24, 2018 at the age of 91. Rev was born in Brewton, Escambia County, AL on November 17, 1926 to Ed and Julia Williams.


Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Sharon Morrison and Minister Oveta Carey officiating. Burial will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11 am.


He graduated from high school in Brewton, AL. In 1945, enlisted and served in the U. S Army during World War II. After the military, he moved to Dothan, AL then to Newark, NJ and started a restaurant business. After spending 10 years in Newark, he returned to Dothan with his family and he and his brother, Jesse, opened a full-service gas station and taxi cab service. After many years in business, the Lord called him to ministry. In addition to ministry, he drove the bus for the City of Dothan School System until he retired in 2013. Also, he served on the board at the City of Dothan Housing Authority.


Rev. was the last of his siblings to be called to be with the Lord. Preceding his homegoing are the late Ed and Julia (Abrams) Williams; siblings-General Lee Williams; Rev. Arthur Williams; Levon Williams; Ruby Williams; Claudie Williams, Bertha K. Johnson; Jesse Williams; Rosetta Williams; Lillie Ruth Drummond; and Isiah Williams; three children-Justin Darrell Williams; Betty Williams; and John Williams.


He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member at Triumph Holiness Church of Dothan, AL.


He leaves to cherish his memories-children-Minister Sharon Morrison; Fran Green; Jackie Williams; Melinda Williams; Ron Williams (Sarah); Oveta Williams Carey (Ossie); and Dwight Williams; Grandchildren-Chad Williams; Kimberleigh Washington; Shawn Williams; Charles Green II, Ceara Booker; Jasmine Green; Christopher Williams; Chelsea Archbold; Brandon Williams; Jariah Williams; Eden Williams; Spencer Pearce; Kieran Pearce; Yvette Gibbs; Terrance Williams; and Cassandra Williams; 8 Great grandchildren; and a hosts of nephews, nieces, cousins; and friends.
