REVEREND JAMES TODD MIMS
DOTHAN. . .Reverend James Todd Mims, a resident of Dothan, died Friday morning, June 7, 2013, in a Dothan hospital. He was 51.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 8, 2013, in the Cloverdale Baptist Church with Reverend Dennis Singletary and Dr. Johnny Fain officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary. A private burial will be in Gardens of Memory.

Box 5554, Dothan, AL 36302 or to the Cloverdale Baptist Church “Playground Fund,” 806 Dexter Avenue, Dothan, AL 36301 or the charity of your choice.
Todd Mims was born and reared in Dothan and was a 1980 graduate of Emmanuel Christian School. He was currently serving as Pastor of Cedar Springs Baptist Church, near Ashford, where he served for the past seven years. Todd was called into Ministry from Cloverdale Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Director, and Coach of Upward Basketball. He sang in the Adult Choir at Cedar Springs and Cloverdale Baptist Church and served on various church committees. Todd also served as a Gideon before being ordained as a Minister. He coached his sons and nephews in Dixie Boys Baseball for twenty-two years. Through the years, Todd loved watching his son play baseball and cherished the relationships made.
Todd loved people and always made them laugh; he was full of life and lived it every day to the fullest. He was an Alabama Crimson Tide Football fan. Todd loved to travel and his favorite places were Hawaii, Walt Disney World, and Panama City Beach. He loved to cook for friends in his home. His greatest passion was telling others about the love of Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his father Henry Curtis Mims.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Paige Woodham Mims; a son, Wyndell “Wyn” Curtis Mims; his mother, Frances Childs Mims; a brother, Ronnie Mims, (Mavis), all of Dothan; sister-in-law, Raye Ann Calton (Walter), Eufaula; nephews and nieces, Chad Mims (Allyson), Dothan; Ryan Mims (Christy), Birmingham; Caroline, Alexandra, and Lucy Calton, all of Eufaula; great-nephews and great-nieces, Addison and Harrison Mims, Kaley, Tyler, and Maggie Mims; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
A special thanks to the community, family, and friends who have outpoured their love to the family during Todd’s illness. A special thank you to Dr. Ryan Conner and Staff from Fairview Clinic, Dr. Olawale Osunsanya, Dr. Gregory Wells, and staff from Davita Dialysis, SAMC, 2nd floor staff, Dr. Jean Fortin, Dr. William Bennett, Dr. Kirk Sturridge, staff of Eye Center South, Dr. Charles McArthur, Southern Bone & Joint staff, Dr. Jason Beaver. Dr. Peter Rao, and Dr. Jonathan Skinner for the care given to Todd.
