Reverend Junior Glenn Peters, a resident of Ozark, died Thursday, December 21, 2023. He was 78 years old.
Funeral services for Mr. Peters will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 30, 2023, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with his brother, Reverend Harold Peters, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
The family will receive friends Saturday in the church from 9:30 A.M. until service time. Flowers will be accepted.
Reverend Peters was born May 19, 1945 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Wyatt Peters and Dorothy Grace Gunter Peters. He pastored several churches in Southeast Alabama before becoming an over-the-road truck driver until his retirement. Reverend Peters served in the Army National Guard for twenty years. He was an avid lover of football, especially the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. He loved spending time with his family but above all he loved the Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Etta Johnson Peters; two sisters, Barbara Hinson and Brenda Hoage.
Reverend Peters is survived by one daughter, Becky Schofield (Kevin); three sons, Glenn Peters Jr. (Tabitha), John Peters and Lewis Peters (Christina) all of Ozark; one sister, Kathy Johnson (Charles) of Ozark; two brothers, Reverend Harold Peters and Edwin Peters (Bridgett) all of Ozark; grandchildren, Joshua Peters (Brittany Tabor), Cristopher Peters (Christina), Ashley Peters, Deanna Lemons (Andrew), Dustin Peters, Dakota Albritton, Nicholas Peters, Austin Johnson and Savanah Peters; great grandchildren, Braxton Peters, Maci Peters, Naomi Peters, Logan Peters, Waylon Albritton, Maverick Johnson and Alina Peters.
