REVEREND W. E. (BILL) BROWN
KINSEY, ALABAMA. . .Reverend W. E. (Bill) Brown, a resident of Kinsey, died Saturday morning, May 6, 2017, in a Dothan hospital. He was 81.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday, May 8, 2017, in the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church, Tumbleton Community, with Reverend Joey Pettis officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services in the sanctuary of the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Free Will Baptist International Missions, P.O. Box 5002, Antioch, TN 37011-5002.
Reverend Brown was born and reared in Houston County in the Gordon and Ashford area, son of the late Mose Brown and Nancy Mae Fears Brown. He was a 1954 graduate of Ashford High School and attended the Georgia Free Will Baptist Institute in Albany, Georgia. He served his country in the U. S Air Force from 1955 until 1958. Reverend Brown was employed for many years as a store manager with variety stores. He retired as a Free Will Baptist Minister at the Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Vienna, GA. Reverend Brown also served as Pastor of several other churches in Georgia and the Pilgrim’s Rest Free Will Baptist Church, near Abbeville. He was a member of the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church. Reverend Brown was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Pearl Spurlock and Mozelle Morris.
Surviving relatives include his wife of fifty-four years, Henrietta Guy Brown; a daughter, Dr. Judy Elizabeth Webb (Craig), Chiang Mai, Thailand; a son, Jimmy Alan Brown (Nancy), Athens, GA; a sister, Addie McElyea, Ashford; a brother, Bobby E. Brown (Charlotte), Slocomb, AL; a grandson, Richard Webb.
