Rhonda Lee Adams Deese

Rhonda, age 49, of Dothan, passed away on January 20, 2024, after a long battle with cervical cancer. She was surrounded by close family and friends for days before she passed.

Rhonda was born on January 15, 1975 to Roger Lewis and Vicki Cale Adams in Keokuk, Iowa. She was adopted by Bruce Adams at the age of 5. She and her family later moved to Iowa City before settling in Dothan in 1986. She graduated from Dothan High School in 1993.

She had a husband, Kevin, and two kids, Delayna and David. She was a very family-oriented woman and loved them dearly. She had a very caring heart and took care of others before herself. She loved to cook for her family and especially anyone else who needed a full belly. Rhonda was such a unique individual; she loved everyone as she wanted to be loved in this life. She was a free spirit who danced whenever she felt like it, especially with her kids in the kitchen while she cooked. She loved the small moments in life, like enjoying the feel of the sunshine on her face and fishing with her family. Her favorite place to be was at the beach, enjoying the water, the sun, and a really good book. She always appreciated how beautiful the surroundings around her were. She also had a love for cows in her life, particularly the black and white-spotted cows. Her family and friends giggled at this love of cows but showered her often with cow-themed items, as they loved to see the beautiful smile it brought to her face.

She is preceded in death by her biological father Roger Lewis, and her mother Vicki Cale Adams.

Survivors she left behind include her husband of 25 years, Kevin Deese (48); her daughter Delayna Church (23); her son David Deese (18); Father Bruce Adams; sisters Shay Niles, Christina Thead, and Megan Hall; brother Joshua Eldfrick; best friends Kasey Rainwater and Lary Gray; adopted daughter Ariel Tyson; adopted grandson Winston Tyson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was a truly loved woman.
