A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

Ricky Lewis Cooper was born in Abbeville, Alabama on September 6, 1974, to Annie Barbara Williams and the late Larry Williams and passed unexpectedly at the tender age of 47 on August 27, 2022.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm.
He leaves to cherish his loving mother “Annie B”; two brothers, Larry (Tameka) Williams and Tim Williams; one sister, Dawn Bell; his only son, Jaylin Porter; two grandsons, Taylin and Nolan Porter; a very dear nephew, Devionte “DJ” Williams; a special friend, Sharon Blakely; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ricky was fondly known as “Coop” and “Officer Cooper”. He is a proud 1994 graduate of Abbeville High School and a loyal 2008 graduate of the Alabama Corrections Academy. Prior to being an exceptional officer at Easterling Correctional Facility, he worked at Ruby’s Restaurant and Perdue Farms. Ricky’s contagious smile and positive outlook on life will always be at the forefront of everyone’s memory.
