Rita June Sheffield Maloy of Kinston, AL passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024. She was 67 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2024, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL. Burial will follow in the Corner Creek Upper Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Maloy’s memory to the University of South Alabama (USA) Mitchell Cancer Center for Ovarian Cancer, 1660 SpringHill Ave., Mobile, AL 36604.

June was born in Geneva, AL on June 22, 1957, to the late Morris Gene and Hautie Marie Weeks Sheffield. She enjoyed being a part of and working tirelessly at the Kinston Senior Center. June also enjoyed spending time with her family, preparing meals for the holidays and taking care of her family.

June is survived by her husband of 49 years, Merwyn Maloy of Kinston, AL; two daughters, Alyssa Maloy Wilson and Emily Maloy Edwards (Wayne) all of Kinston, AL; five grandchildren, Ella Jean Nicometo, Jorja Beth Wilson, Chloe Grace Nicometo, Cody Jack Wilson, and Levi Thomas Nicometo; two sisters, Jean Harris and Pam Gillis.

Those wishing to provide food for the family, please carry it to Kinston First Baptist Church Family Life Center for the family meal following the service on Monday.
