Robbie Brown, a spirited, loving, and creative soul, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2023, in Wicksburg, AL after a prolonged illness. Born on October 30, 1932, in Alabama, Robbie was a beloved matriarch, a successful businesswoman, and an inspiration to all who knew her.
Robbie was the proud owner of Robbie's Sewing and Alterations for over 30 years. Her love for sewing was evident in her work, as she put her heart and soul into every stitch. Her dedication to her craft was only matched by her strong will and determination, traits that served her well throughout her life. In addition to her work, Robbie was also an active member of her community, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Robbie was a woman of many interests. She was an avid fisherwoman and enjoyed the tranquility that came with spending time by the water. She was also a fan of puzzles, finding joy in the challenge of piecing together the intricate designs. Above all else, Robbie loved spending time with her family. She treasured the moments spent cooking and sharing meals together, creating memories that her loved ones will cherish forever.
Robbie is survived by her children, Imogene (Kenneth) Segars, Travis (Sue) Smith, Ferri (Mark) Hall, Todd (Tammy) Smith, and Donald (Donna) Smith; her grandchildren, Chris (Nina) Speigner, Jody (Amber) Smith, Ashley Hall, and Shane Hall; her great grandchildren, Luther (Brandalynn) Brazell, Dylan Brazell, Tyler Metcalf, Millie Smith, Londa Smith, Suzanne Smith, Marley Paulk, Harlie Romine, and Savannah Speigner; by her siblings, Howard Hanners and Mary Norwalk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben Hanners and Donie Martin; her husbands, Luther Smith and Harold Brown; her son, Joel Smith; and her granddaughter, Kristie Metcalf.
Robbie’s life was a testament to the quote by Helen Keller, "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." She lived her life to the fullest, embracing every challenge with a strong will and a positive spirit. Her love for her family, her passion for her work, and her zest for life made her a beacon of light in the lives of those she touched.
