Mrs. Robbie Ray Johnson age 98 of Samson, AL went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in DeFuniak Springs, FL.


Robbie was born March 6, 1919, in Geneva County, AL to A.C. “Chip” Register and Laura Mae Brannon Register


Funeral services will be Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Ino Baptist Church with Brother Garry Winstead officiating.  Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery (Highway 27, Geneva) with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the start of service.


Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, LL “Buck” Johnson; infant son, Teddy Ray Johnson, sister, Dorothy Keith; infant granddaughter and son in law, Stan Arnold.


She is survived by:  her daughters, Ann Arnold of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Beth Meeks (Charles) of Opp, AL and Linda Boswell (Wayne) of Columbus, GA; six grandchildren:  Stosh Arnold (Connie), Zach Arnold (Donna), Rod Meeks (Lara), Robin Meeks Sensabaugh (Daryn), Todd Turner (Angie) and Trace Turner (Nicole); 12 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.


Those blessed to be a part of Nannie’s life know that they were loved.  She spent her time making a home for her husband and family.  Nannie was an awesome poet and memorialized all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even a few of the last generation with a poem of their own.  Any “free” time she spent embroidering.
