ROBBIE VINSON BUSH ADAMS
HEADLAND… Robbie Vinson Bush Adams, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 21, 2024, at her home. She was 102.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 23, 2024 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made in honor of Mrs. Adams to Living Waters, 2130 County Road 125, Headland, Alabama.
Mrs. Adams was born in Headland, Alabama to the late J. Zeamer Vinson and Edna Earle Gamble Vinson. She was a graduate of Headland High School. She had previously lived in Albany, Georgia from 1950 until 1957 and then returned to Headland, Alabama. Mrs. Adams retired as the owner and operator of Bush Gardens in Headland. She formerly co-owned and operated Wayside Garden Center in Dothan. In earlier years, she was active in the landscaping of the Headland Town Square, where she devoted her time and planted hundreds of daylilies. She was instrumental in the founding of the Wiregrass Daylily Society and she was affectionally known as the “Daylily Lady”. Mrs. Adams was a member of the First Baptist Church – Headland where she was actively involved in the Food Bank and the Clothes Closet and was a member of the Marilyn McClendon Sunday School Class.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Joel Dudley Bush and George Dewitt Adams; her son, Dell Bush; her brothers, Heywood A. Vinson and Howard Vinson; her sister, Zelda White; her daughter-in-law, Nylene Miller Bush; her brothers-in-law, James H. White and Benjamin O’Neal Ham; her sister-in-law, Anna Rosa Campbell Vinson; and her granddaughter-in-law, Holly Bush.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her son, Mike Bush (Kate Helen Phillips Bush); her daughter-in-law, Jean Phillips Bush; her sister, Sara Ham; her sister-in-law, Montez Vinson; her grandchildren, Joel D. Bush, II, Jennifer Lynne Salter (Chris), Jeff Bush, Amy Bush Manning (Jason), and Josh Bush; her step-grandchildren, Jim Bridges and Kelin Bridges; and her several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her sitters, Ruby Reeves, Kim, Joanna, Nina, Brenda & Amy and also to Enhabit Hospice.
