DOTHAN. . .Robert Charles Ledbetter, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, died Friday morning, August 12, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 90.
There are no memorial or funeral services planned at this time. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ledbetter was born in Anniston, Alabama and was raised in Monroe, Louisiana, son of the late Lon Robert Ledbetter and Nan Kelley Ledbetter. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War era. He lived in Birmingham and Ocala, Florida before moving to Dothan in 2020. Mr. Ledbetter was retired as a PGA Professional and served as a golf instructor all his adult lifetime. He was an avid LSU football fan and a very gifted artist. Mr. Ledbetter was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Ledbetter Wilson and a brother, Billy Ledbetter.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Roberta Ledbetter Brown (Bill), Winston-Salem, NC; Kelley Lane Ledbetter Rote (John), Lancaster, PA; and Nancy Lee Ledbetter Ransbottom, Short Pump, VA; a close friend, Kay Whaley, Dothan; six grandchildren, Samantha Hsu (William), Abigail Ransbottom, Sarah Ransbottom, Joseph Ransbottom, Andrew Rote and Ashley Rote.
