DOTHAN…Robert Cushman Trumbull, a resident of Dothan, died Thursday night, May 09, 2013, in a Dothan hospital. He was 72.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. (EDT) Monday, May 13, 2013, in the Ft. Gaines Presbyterian Church with Reverend Walter Flint officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the memorial services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ft. Gaines Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 157, Ft. Gaines, GA 39851.
Mr. Trumbull was born in Quincy, Massachusetts, and was reared in Hampton, New Hampshire, son of the late Ezra Chase Trumbull, Sr. and Mildred Florence Collins Trumbull. He was a graduate of Hampton Academy and attended the University of New Hampshire. Mr. Trumbull served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. He lived in Hampton, NH, Baker, FL, and on Lake Eufaula in Henry County before moving to Dothan in February 2013. Mr. Trumbull was a member of the Ft. Gaines Presbyterian Church, the Screamer Volunteer Fire Department, and was a former member of the Hampton Fire Department. He was retired as a Clerk in the Crestview Post Office in Crestview, FL. Mr. Trumbull was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Butler, and a brother, John Trumbull.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Barbara Hood Trumbull, Dothan; three daughters, Leisa Marelli (Gary), Baker, FL; Debra Jones, Newport News, VA; Rebecca Bruce (David), Dothan; three sons, Robert Trumbull, Jr. (Ronnie), Whitman, MA; Michael Marston (Lori), Dothan; and Brett Trumbull (Keri), East Bridgewater, MA; a brother, Ezra Trumbull, Jr. (Chris), Salem, VA; twenty grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
