DOTHAN, AL… Robert Earl Gray, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at a Dothan hospital. He was 82.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Gray was born November 17th, 1940 in Houston County, Alabama to the late Benjamin Gray and Ovetta Beverette Gray. He lived in Columbia, Alabama, and the Tumbleton area of Henry County before moving to Dothan, Alabama 25 years ago. He was a jack of all trades. He worked for ISS Sanitation, and as a long-haul truck driver, for a long while before he went to work for the Applefields family, in Dothan, Alabama, as a maintenance superintendent for Goldco Inc.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Brady Gray; and several brothers and sisters.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his daughters, Sadie Gray Alexander (Marcus), Sarah Gray, Latonya Brady, and Casonya Mullins (Willie); his sons, Adrian Gray and Ronnie Brady (Shonjean); his sister, Willie Dell “Sweetie” Flowers (Harvey); fourteen grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; his several nieces and nephews; and his special friends Jimmy and Caren Coleson, Bryan and Shelia Applefield, and a special thank you to Dr. Carlos Clark.
