Mr. Robert Eugene Veazey of Dothan passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center with his wife and children at his side. He was 82.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 6 P.M. Tuesday, January 20, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at First Baptist Church Childersburg, Alabama with Reverends Joe Bob Mizzell and Mike Grimes officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 P.M. Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery in Childersburg, Alabama. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Childersburg, 200 8th Avenue SW Childersburg, Alabama 35044, or to Grandview Baptist Church in Dothan, 2400 Forrester Road, Dothan, AL 36301.
Mr. Veazey retired from Southern Nuclear after 32 years. He was very talented in crafting with detailed and intricate hand wood carvings and was pleased to share them with friends and loved ones. He served our country for 4 years in the US Navy and 2 two years of active duty with the US Army where he served in Germany. He loved his family very much.
He is preceded in death by his parents Wallace Hyman Veazey and Susie Mae Bryant Veazey, brother, Wallace Bryant Veazey and a sister Betty Ann Veazey.
Survivors include his wife Camella Veazey of Dothan; daughters Kim Veazey Knight (Roland) of Childersburg; Melanie Mills (Brad) of Ashford; son James R. Veazey (Yvonne) of Childresburg; David Moore (Sonya) of Dothan; grandchildren Killgore Knight, Konner Knight, Brandi Veazey, Colton Veazey, Crystal Sorrells, Ashley Moore, Eric Moore, Cory Mills, Alex Mills, Kimberly Bond, Jonathan Bond, Brent Bond, Brandon Bond, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
