Robert Floyd George, a resident of Dothan, AL passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 surrounded by family and friends. He was 57 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Cecil Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Dothan City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At all other times the family will be at the home of Julie and Lee, 106 Hidden Pine Place, Dothan, AL. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Dothan Animal Shelter, 295 Jerry Drive, Dothan, AL..
Robert was born January 6, 1962 in West Palm Beach, FL and spent the early part of his life there prior to moving to Dothan with his family in 1971. He was a 1979 graduate of Houston Academy and went on to study at Wallace College. He was employed as the V.P. of Operations for Sun Sack, Inc. D/B/A Club Sun for over 20 years. He was also self employed in many other business ventures and most recently was working with Mike Hughes Construction as a supervisor. Robert loved hunting and fishing, was a huge Alabama Crimson Tide Football Fan, enjoyed entertaining family and friends at his home, and was an avid animal lover. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Edward George, Sr., and his brother, Roy Edward “Chip” George, Jr.
Survivors include his mother, Jeannine George; sisters, Jeannine (Ron) Benefield, Linda (Don) Marley, and Julie George (fiancé Lee Brennan); brothers, Kevin (Lucrecia) George and Ray (Kay) George; nieces and nephews, Olivia Rhodes, MAJ Ritchie (Ricki) Rhodes, Candice (Josh) Conner, Megan (Chris) Barnett, Austin George, Jessica (Jonathan) McNelley, and Haley George; great-nieces and great-nephews, Regan Rhodes, Marley Conner, Gabel Conner, Brooklyn McNelley, and Nicholas York.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Webber, Mike Hughes, Brett Armstrong, Taylor Davis, Stuart Atkinson, Mark Hilson and Mark Saliba. Honorary pallbearer will be John Hall.
