Robert L. Kelley age 72 of Dothan died early Thursday morning March 15, 2018 at his residence after an extended illness.


Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Selma Baptist Church with Pastor’s Joey Tucker and Brent Parker officiating and Family First Funeral Care directing.  Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time.


Memorials contributions may be made to the: Respite Care Ministry at First United Methodist Church, 1380 W. Main Street, Dothan 36301.


Mr. Kelley was born in Newnan, Ga., son of the late Willie and Mary Morgan Kelley and lived most of his life in Dothan.  Robert loved all sports but excelled in football.  He played four years for the Jacksonville State University Gamecocks and was considered for professional football. Mr. Kelley owned and operated a lawn care business and was a faithful member of Selma Baptist Church.


Other than his parents, Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Kelley.  Survivors include his wife Judi Kelley of Dothan, sons Kip (Angie) Kelley of Dallas, Ga., Kendrick (Tammy) Batchelor of Dothan, daughters Lori Danford and Candy (Tim) Gilley both of Dothan, sister Joan Kelley of Newnan and sister in law Irma Kelley of Lilburn, Ga., Nine Grandchildren Nick (Jessica) Francis, Jacob Francis, Adam Francis, Hayden Gilley, Dillan Gilley, Ethan (Joy) Kelley, McKay Kelley, Kayla Batchelor and Samuel Batchelor and four great-grandchildren also survive.
