Robert “Bob” LaMarch passed away on 08/05/22 after a hard-fought battle with Cancer. He was born 05/04/45 in Niskayuna, New York, where he remained in the area through high school, attending Schoharie Central School with the class of 1964. After high school, Bob attended Central Missouri State University for a semester, when he left to enlist in the Army in 1965. From there he went to basic training, to Ft Devens for specialized training, and was
assigned to Security Ops in Germany. He copied morse code, and was invaluable intercepting Russian and other enemies’ transmissions, often following their troops’ movements.
After serving almost four and a half years in the Army, he returned to the United States and began a career in construction in Massachusetts. His construction career spanned several decades, taking him to Maine, Pennsylvania, Texas, and finally to his retirement in Alabama, where he passed away at home with his wife and sons by his side. Bob is survived by his wife Margit, two sons, Robert and David, two grandchildren, Robert and Rebekah, his sister Darlene, and his brother Leo.
