COWARTS. . .Robert L. “Bob” Hall, a resident of Cowarts, died Friday night, April 20, 2018, in the Signature HealthCare of North Florida in Graceville. He was 90.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 23, 2018, in the Cowarts Baptist Church with Reverend Chris Dunnam officiating. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow in the Cowarts Baptist Church Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday in the church sanctuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Cowarts Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 10, Cowarts, AL 36321.


Mr. Hall was born and reared in Cowarts where he lived most of his lifetime. He was a graduate of Ashford High School. Mr. Hall enlisted in the U. S. Army and served his country during the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. After his military service, he was employed by U. S. Civil Service at Fort Rucker where he retired after thirty years employment. Mr. Hall earned many college credits from the U. S. Army and the University of Alabama extension campus. He served two terms as Mayor and four terms as a member of the City Council in Cowarts. Mr. Hall was an active member of the Cowarts Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for over sixty years and was the church clerk over thirty years. He traveled extensively and had been on over ninety trips with the travel club. Mr. Hall was preceded was preceded in death by his wife, Sidney Still Hall, his father, James Murray Hall, Sr. and his mother, Lucille Folkes Hall Crawford.


            Surviving relatives include two daughters, Ramona Hall, Cowarts; and Carol Hall McKenny, Dothan; a granddaughter, Laura McKenny; a brother, James Murray Hall, Jr., Marbury, AL; several nieces and nephews.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Deacons of Cowarts Baptist Church.
