Mr. Robert Terril “Terry” Schenz, 81, a resident of Dothan passed away on, Sunday, November 10, 2024, at his residence following an extended illness.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2024, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Dee Koza officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m., prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Evergreen Presbyterian Church Outreach Fund or Pantry, 1103 N. Pontiac Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303; or DHR/Adult Service Unit, 1605 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL 36301 (Attention: Summers Bell).

Mr. Schenz was born September 26, 1943, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to the late Robert George & Mildred Marie Tuttle Schenz. In the early years of his life, his family moved to Montgomery where he attended school, and was a 1960 graduate of Sidney Lanier High School. Shortly after graduation, he attended Auburn University, obtaining his bachelor’s degree. Immediately following college, he went to work for IBM, where he worked as an Systems Analyst for 40 years, up until his retirement in 2004. Outside of work, he spent many years coaching girls youth softball, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is preceded by his parents, Robert George & Mildred Marie (Tuttle) Schenz.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sally Collins Schenz; two daughters, Margaret Schenz Powell (Stephen) of Vestavia Hills, and Sarah Schenz Griffin (Chris) of Dothan; a sister, Merry Hudson of Prattville; four grandchildren, Emma Rose Griffin, Christian Cade Griffin, Caroline Elizabeth Powell, and Milly Katherine Powell.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Flowers Hosptial, Westside Terrace, Amedysis Home Health, Dr. Paola Bass, Summers Bell, and Greg Dean for the care shown to their loved one during this time.
