Headland….Roberta Fails Welch Snell, a resident of Headland, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019, in Westside Terrace surrounded by her loving family. She was 95.

            Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 29, 2019, in the Kinsey Cemetery with Reverend Larry Elliott officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301.

Mrs. Snell was born and reared in the Kinsey Community in Houston County, the daughter of the late James Edgar Fails and Sarah Ryals Fails. Mrs. Snell lived in Dothan most of her adult life before moving to Headland in 1975.  She worked as a supervisor and examiner for the Dothan Manufacturing Company in the pajama mill department. Mrs. Snell was of the Methodist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husbands, J.T. Welch and Rudolph Snell; a son, Lewis Arthur Welch; three sisters, Johnnie Howell, Beatrice Creamer, and Catherine Sketo; four brothers, Bill Fails, Loyd Fails, Wesley Fails, and Edward Fails.

            Surviving relatives include a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Mary Shelley.
