Roby Dean Benefield moved to Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at his home in Dothan, Alabama.  He was 60.

Funeral services will be held at Harvest Church in Dothan on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Ralph Sigler and Pastor Larry Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery on Highway 52 also in Dothan with Family First Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 pm until the service begins.

Roby was born October 30, 1961 to Naomi and Hershel Benefield in Tampa, Florida.  He moved to Alabama with his family in 1978 where he graduated from Enterprise High School.  During the following years he worked as a radio announcer for several local radio stations and called the races at South Alabama Motor Speedway.  He then went into business with his father as an auctioneer and manager for Dothan Auto Auction and did that for many years.  Approximately 20 years ago his love of music led him to a new career in piano tuning and restoration.

He enjoyed hunting, golf, “picking & grinning” with his music buddies and fantasy football.  He was also an avid Tampa Bay Bucs and Alabama fan.  He and his wife Alma are members of Harvest Church where Roby enjoyed playing guitar on the worship team.

Those who know him well knew he was a true lover of Christ.  He was devoted to his family and friends and never met a stranger.  Roby was loved by many and will be greatly missed on this earth.

His survivors include, His wife of three years, Alma Benefield; Three children; Jenifer Ezell of Ohio, Jeffrey (Julie) Benefield of California and Seth Benefield of Hawaii.  Two sisters; Renae Benefield of Montgomery and Lori (Terry) Bradley of Enterprise.  Nieces and Nephews; Jason Bradley, Justin (Jenna) Bradley, Jordan (Blaire) and (baby Kai) Gilley all of Enterprise.

If on your heart to do so, flowers and plants may be sent to Family First Funeral Home or donations to Harvest Church worship team. But, please know it is your friendship, love and prayers that are treasured above all.
