Rodney Gerald Ming, a resident of Dothan, AL passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at a local hospital. He was 59.

Rodney was born on March 20, 1962 in Tallahassee, FL to Ray and Peggy Ming and moved to Dothan at an early age. He was a 1980 graduate of Dothan High School where he played catcher for the baseball team and won a state championship. Rodney attended Wallace Community College and played baseball for the American Legion Post 12 team who competed in the regional finals in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Later, he worked for the family business, Ray’s Truck and Trailer Parts for several years. Most recently, he was employed with Dothan City Schools as a bus driver. Rodney was a great cook who enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He also cooked in several family-owned restaurants. Rodney was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church.
Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Ray Ming.
Survivors include his son, Ethan Ming; his daughter, Hayden Ming; his mother, Peggy Ming; his brother, Andy (Dana) Ming; his sister, Pam (Randy) Dean; his nieces and nephews, Drew Ming, Jessica Ming, Katie Rice and Josh Dean; his aunt, Mollie (Jim) Boggess; and five great nieces and nephews.
