Roger Allen Arnold Sr., 72, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Dothan on December 25, 1949, to the late U.B. (Bill) and Edna (Gibson) Arnold.
A Funeral Service will be 2 PM, Monday, November 14, 2022, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, burial to follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 PM Monday until service time at the funeral home.
Roger played football for the Headland Rams and graduated from Headland high School in 1968. “In School and sports and all that’s fun, Put him down as number one.” He joined the Navy in 1969 and served until 1971. In 1975 Roger joined the Alabama Air National Guard and retired in 1995. He was a local business owner in enterprise and was an avid Crimson Tide Football fan. Roger was an active church member and enjoyed serving others.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Barney Lee Arnold.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Mary sue Collins Mathis, children, Allen Arnold, Jr (Beverly), Andy Arnold (Salem), Amie Fleming (Mark), brother, Wallace Arnold (Betty Jean), sister, Barbara Ann Brock, grandchildren, Caleb Arnold (Meagan), Blake Arnold, James Arnold, Drew Arnold, Benjamin Fleming, Bryce Fleming, Brendon Fleming, and Beau Fleming, great-grandchildren, Eloise Arnold, and Luka Arnold, dear friend, Claire Kirkpatrick, along with several nephews, nieces, and loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Red Cross.
