OZARK…. Roland Samuel “Sam” Rhodes, a resident of Ozark, died early Friday morning, July 26, 2019 at his home. He was 65.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel with Adam Mulliner officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to: Community Hospice, 368 James Street, Ozark, AL 36360.
Mr. Rhodes, son of the late Roland Laverne Rhodes and Pauline Marie Parks Rhodes, was a native of Monterey, County, California. He lived in various locations in the United States while his father served in the United States Army before moving to Ozark at an early age. Mr. Rhodes attended Carroll High School and was retired from Army Fleet Support, LLC at Ft. Rucker as an aircraft mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and turkey hunting. Mr. Rhodes was preceded in death by a son, Sidney Aaron Dyson.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Tammie Peacock Rhodes, Ozark; his son, Dustin Rhodes (Tara), Samson; a sister, Alicia Galland (Roland), Ozark; three brothers, Robert “Bob” Rhodes, Paul Rhodes, and Raoul “Bo” Rhodes, all of Ozark; three grandchildren, Hayden Dyson, Alex Dyson, and Samuel Rhodes; several nieces, nephews and other relatives; his beloved K-9 companion, Belle.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dale Medical Center and Community Hospice for their compassion, care, kindness and support to Mr. Rhodes and his family.
