Ronald C. “Buck” Hobbs of Hartford passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Hartford Health Care. He was 86.


 


Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Bro. Ricky Hall and Bro. Bill Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors under the direction of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.


 


Mr. Hobbs served his country honorably in the U.S. Army retiring in 1973. His awards included two bronze stars, Army commendation medal, national defense medal, Korean and Vietnam Service medals.


 


He was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Irene Hobbs; his daughter, Angie Lee; nine brothers.


 


He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Crutchfield Hobbs; his daughter, Sharon (Charlie) Duncan; son-in-law, Tony Lee; grandchildren, Tori (Ross) Strickland, Jeremy (Lindsey) Lee, Amanda Duffy, and Matt Poston; six great-grandchildren with another one on the way; two sisters, Doye Gresham and Jean Loftin.


 


In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Shiloh Baptist Church Sanctuary Fund, 873 N. Shiloh Rd, Hartford, AL 36344.
