Ronald will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park with military honors, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and courage. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-3 pm, welcoming all who wish to pay their respects and share in the memory of a man who was truly a blessing to this world.

We gather here today to honor and celebrate the life of a remarkable man, Ronald Douglas Evans, who walked into the arms of our Lord on the 15th of July, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on the 26th of August, 1944, in Kissimmee, Florida, Ronald was a beacon of faith and love throughout his 79 years on this earth.

Ronald was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 55 years, Arloa Dell Evans, and a loving father to his children, Adriane Evans (Father Ari) Adams, Andrea Evans, and Michael (Brooke) Evans. His legacy continues to shine through his grandchildren, Aislinn Adams, Ana Adams, Duncan Adams, Malcolm Adams, Megan Evans, and Molly Evans, who will carry his spirit and teachings with them always. He was a cherished brother to Ginger Evans Hall, Rodney Evans, Steve Evans, and an uncle to many nieces and nephews who adored him. He is also survived by his honorary daughters, Joy Cowarts, Tara Ivey, Janet Ivey, and their families. Ronald now joins his parents, Douglas and Rosa Mae Addison Evans, his daughter, Andrea, and his sister, Ginger in the heavenly realm.

Ronald was a man of intellect and insatiable curiosity, aptly dubbed a "Professional Student" for his love of learning. His academic journey took him through the halls of over seven different universities, culminating in a Master's Degree in Theology and Business from Oral Roberts University. His thirst for knowledge was matched only by his desire to serve, as evidenced by his honorable stint in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.

After his military service, Ronald worked diligently as a teacher and an accountant, but his true calling was in his service to others as a prison Chaplain at Jackson Correctional Institution in Malone, Florida, where he served until his retirement. He was a man who walked the walk, embodying the principles he preached, and touching the lives of many through his unwavering faith and compassionate spirit.

Ronald's love for his family knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment with his six grandchildren. His canine companion, Rascal, was a source of joy and laughter in his life. As a member of Christ Church International, Ronald's voice once soared in song and worship, and his love for music was a testament to the joy he found in worship.

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another," Jesus Christ once said, and Ronald lived by this decree, his life a testament to the power of love and the strength of faith. He was a faith-filled man, loving and courageous, an inspiration to all who knew him.

Let us find comfort in knowing that Ronald Douglas Evans now rests in the eternal embrace of our Savior, his life a beautiful reflection of the divine love that guides us all. Amen.
