Ronald Robert "Ron" Schwall, 66, of Newton passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville FL, 32256.

Mr. Schwall was born December 27, 1944 in Staten Island, NY and lived there the early part of his life. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served for 20 years in the U.S. Army from which he retired in 1987. He later worked in civil service at Ft. Rucker for 20 years and retired in 2007.

Survivors include his sons, Ronald R. Schwall, Jr. (Kim) of Huntsville, AL, and John H. Schwall (Kelli) of Crestview, FL; grandchildren, Ethan Schwall and Bailey Schwall; a brother Bernard Schwall of New Jersey; a special friend Ellen Schwall; several nieces also survive.
