EDWIN COMMUNITY. . .Ronnie Edward Money, a resident of the Edwin Community of Henry County, moved into his Heavenly Home early Sunday night, October 11, 2015, after a short and courageous battle with cancer.  He was 64.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 14, 2015, in the Old Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Matthew Quincey and Reverend Ella Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Abbeville.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, AL 36311.


            Ronnie Money was born and reared in Shorterville and was a 1969 graduate of Abbeville High School. He served his country in the Army Reserve in the Abbeville unit. Ronnie was a member of the Judson Baptist Church. He was retired as a Foreman from Ranger Transport & Timber Company of Georgetown, GA. In earlier years, Ronnie worked for Skipper Hardwood, Money Pulpwood, Money Ford and Money Motors. He was preceded in death by his father, Lucious Edward Money, his step-father, Charles Bearden, and a brother, Clifford Bearden.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Linda Starling Money; two sons, Clint Money (Jodi), and Brian Money (Chrissy), all of the Edwin Community; his mother, Jean Smith Bearden, Abbeville; three sisters, Terri Morgan (Guy), Cottonwood; Charlene Kemper (Eddie), Dothan; and Carrie Murphy (Troy), Aiken, SC; a brother, Casey Bearden, Sr. (Renee), Abbeville; five grandchildren, Rachael Metzger, Courtney Money, Tommy Hardy, Cole Money and Tyler Hardy; a great-granddaughter on the way, Brailee Nicole Smith; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from the Starling family, Harvey Lux, Spartanburg, SC; June Starling, Shorterville; Joyce and Don Cline, Covington, GA; Johnny and Carolyn Starling, Shorterville; Wayne and Karen Starling, Boise, Idaho; Terry and Robert Thompson, Abbeville.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Clint Money, Brian Money, Robert Thompson, Joe Drawdy, Pete Johnson, Gary Whitehead, Casey Bearden, Sr. and Troy Murphy. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be employees of Ranger Transport & Timber Company.


            The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Dr. Richard Bendinger, Dr. John Dunn and Dr. Steve Stokes, Gentiva Hospice and Gentiva Home Healthcare, for the loving care and kindness shown to Ronnie during his illness.
