DOTHAN…Ronnie Hughes Granger, a resident of Dothan, died Thursday morning, January 17, 2013, at his home. He was 72.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 20, 2013, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, with a granddaughter, Katie Bradshaw officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary in Headland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Southeast Alabama Medical Center Foundation, “In Memory of Ronnie Granger,” 1922 Fairview Avenue, Dothan, AL 36301or to, Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mr. Granger was born and reared in Houston County, near Cottonwood, son of the late Albert Randolph Granger and Christine Hughes Granger. He was a graduate of Dothan High School. Mr. Granger served his country in the Air National Guard in the Dothan Unit which was activated in 1964. He formerly lived in Cottonwood before moving to Dothan where he lived most of his adult lifetime. Mr. Granger was a member of the St. Mary’s United Methodist Church, near Cottonwood. He retired in 1995 as the owner and operator of Granger and Snell Bar B Que in Dothan. Mr. Granger was preceded in death by a son, Corey Dawson Granger, and a sister, Becky Granger.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Dorma Huff Granger, Dothan; a daughter, Susan Bradshaw and husband, Phillip, Cottonwood; two sons, Mike Faulk, Napier Field; and Greg Faulk and wife, Georgiana, Headland; a sister, Joy Cobb and husband, Randall, Cottonwood; a brother, Wayne Granger and wife, Marilyn, Bryson City, NC; four grandchildren, Katie Bradshaw, Billy Faulk, Jaimee Faulk, and AnnaKate Faulk; a brother-in-law, Dennis Huff and wife, Jane, Dothan; and several nieces and nephews.
