OZARK… Mr. Roscoe F. German, a resident of Ozark, near Newton, died Monday afternoon, January 24, 2022, in the emergency room of Dale Medical Center. He was 64.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 28, 2022, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Peter Brent officiating. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.


            Mr. German, son of the late Robert Moses German and Blondell McKee German, was a native of Dale County, near Midland City. He moved to Ozark, near Newton in 1985. Mr. German was employed with Deloney Brothers Logging Company since 1991. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and being outdoors. Mr. German enjoyed most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Greggorie German; two sisters, Lottie Shiver and an infant sister.


            Surviving relatives include his wife of forty-years, Delores Lancaster German, Ozark; two daughters, Stacey Young (Kelly) and Amanda German, all of Slocomb; a son, Wesley Mathis (Trish), Newton;  five sisters, Melba Slaughter, Slocomb, Lucy Palmer, Newton, Linda Cook (Mixon), Ozark, Ilene Cumming (Billy Ray), Skipperville, and Pauline Cummings (Floyd), Ozark; three brothers, Robert German, Newton, Kenneth German (Glenda), Greenville, and Ronnie German (Teri), Newton; six grandchildren, Jordan Mathis, Sheigh Lewis, Tanner Mathis (Madison), Chase Mathis, Brody Mathis, and Haley Harper (Matthew); three great-grandchildren, Jorlynne Mathis, Dayne Mathis, and Annalise Harper.
