A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 6, 2024, at 10:30 am. in The St Columba Catholic Church Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.

Rose Ann Russo, a beacon of faith passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024, at the age of 93 in Ocala, Florida. Born on April 23, 1931, in McComas, West Virginia. Rose was the daughter of the late Domenico Russo and Victoria Melia Russo. She was the last surviving sibling of her family, predeceased by Catherine Caruso, Steve Russo, Joseph Russo, Mary Turin, Lena Tew, Dora Brago, James Russo, and Dominic Russo.

Rose moved from McComas to Bridgeton, New Jersey, where she attended Immaculate Conception Elementary Catholic School. She then went on to graduate from Bridgeton High School, Class of 1949.. Not long after high school Rose was employed by Owens Illinois glass factory where she was a dedicated employee. She retired at the young age of 55. She was always smiling and could speak with anyone. Her industrious spirit was matched only by her generosity and her commitment to her faith.

After retirement, Rose relocated to the wiregrass area, residing there for approximately 40 years where she lived a humble life. Rose's selflessness shone through her volunteer work, at the Catholic Thrift Store and with the St. Columba’s Friday cleaning group, helping to maintain the church she loved so dearly. In 2023, she made her final move to Belleview, Florida, to be closer to her beloved niece, Tina Russo Rios.

Rose was a faith-filled woman who shared her light with everyone she met. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her many nieces and nephews: Tina Russo Rios (Luis), Michael Russo (Beth), Dr. Chris Russo (Theresa), Dr. Richard Russo (Tracy), Steve Russo (Debbie), Vicky Baker (Ted), Linda Whalen (Joe), Timothy Tew (Kelly), and David Russo (Gail) and families. She had many great nieces and nephews and many very good friends.

Rose was always willing to help family and friends through her simple acts of kindness and her unwavering devotion to her faith. Rose's legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her, as they recall her compassionate heart.

As we say farewell to Rose A. Russo, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life filled with love, commitment, and service to others. Her journey on earth may have concluded, but her spirit remains a guiding light to all who knew her. May she rest in peace and forever in our hearts.
