Rose Marie Cotton, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on June 15, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion.


Born in Tennessee on April 30, 1952, Rosie was the daughter of Paul E. Cotton Junior and Helen L. Cotton. She dedicated her life to serving her country as an Armament Technician contractor for the US government, a role in which she excelled with dedication and skill.


A member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Rosie’s faith was a guiding light in her life, shaping her into the kind, caring, and compassionate person she was known to be. She had a deep love for all animals and was known for her generosity and willingness to help those in need. Rosie was a fighter, facing life’s challenges with unwavering strength and grace.


Rosie is survived by her son, Zackary Cotton (Janel), who will always cherish the memories and values she instilled. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Cotton, sister Theresa Waits (Vernon), and granddaughter Madeline, who brought her immense joy and pride. Rosie will be missed by her niece, Christy Marie Waits, and nephew, Toni D. Waits, who held a special place in her heart.


As we mourn the loss of Rose Marie Cotton, let us remember her with fondness, gratitude, and love. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her legacy of kindness and strength will continue to inspire us for years to come. You will forever be cherished and remembered.


Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home on Tuesday the 25th of June at 11AM with Father Zachary Greenwell officiating, followed by burial at Daleville Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Rosie’s life and honoring her memory. Visitation will be from 6PM to 8PM Monday the 24th of June.
