Rosella M. Kemmet of Enterprise, AL, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 in Lucedale, MS surrounded by her loving family; she was 88.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Pastor Lister Reeves officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service time.  In lieu of flowers, Rosella requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Rosella was born March 9, 1936 in New Albany, Indiana and moved to Denmark, SC when she was 8 years old. She retired after 37 years as a Registered Nurse working for the federal government at Army Lyster Hospital on Fort Rucker, AL, with a total of 49 years in the nursing profession. She was a member of Eastern Star, National Active and Retirees Federal Employees Association, Lunch Bunch, and Senior Circle. Additionally, she was a huge college football fan, loved to fish, was an avid European traveler, and produced beautiful needlepoint work. Every Sunday she could be found watching a live stream of Willowbrook Church in Huntsville, AL on her iPad.

She was preceded in death by her parents Denver and Elsie Morrison, sister Lavonda Sandifer, daughter Mary Kemmet, and grandson Kyle Kemmet.

Survivors include her son, Alvin Kemmet, Jr. (April), Owens Cross Roads, AL; daughter, Shirley Atkinson (Michael), Lucedale, MS; son, Ted Kemmet (Roberta), Salinas, CA; thirteen grandchildren, Ryan (Alex), Blake (Alicia), Whitney (Nick), Dale (Becca), Christopher (Amy), Billie (Selena), Shelby, Clint, Mika (Steven), Max, Zachery, Monica, Jonathon; twenty-six great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Ruth Weeks, Aiken, SC; numerous nieces and nephews.
