Rosemary Jenison, of Ozark, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 14, 2021, at her home. Rosemary was born in Pinckard, Alabama on October 1, 1929, to Thomas LeGrand Borom & Ocie Tyson Borom.

She traveled extensively with her Army family and attended at least a dozen different schools in various states, before graduating high school in El Paso, Texas.  She then matriculated to Mary Washington college, studying art & design.

Following WW II, she was off with her family to Germany, where she attended Heidelberg University and met her future husband Merritt “Doc” Jenison.  They had two children, Eric & Candace in Heidelberg, before returning to the US.  Merritt obtained a job with Goodyear Tire which took them to Ozark, Alabama and then later Birmingham, Alabama, where her youngest child Cheryl was born.  Her husband’s job later took them to Goodyear’s headquarters in Akron, Ohio.

Rosemary enjoyed designing jewelry and worked at Lakeshore Jewelers in Akron for many years. Rosemary and Doc then began breeding and showing their Kerry Blue terriers. They made many friends as they traveled in their RV to various dog shows around the country.  They remained in Akron until retirement in 1988, and then moved to Ozark, Alabama. Rosemary especially enjoyed traveling around Europe and had many stories to tell.  Her favorite memories were of trips to Topsail Beach, NC and Gulf Shores, Alabama. She loved southern living culture, antiques and watching tennis endlessly.

Rosemary always enjoyed her family and enjoyed hearing about her children & grandchildren’s adventures and accomplishments. She loved her flowers and watching her birds out the back picture window.  She also loved her dogs and kept them close right up until the end.

Rosemary is survived/predeceased by her husband, Merritt C Jenison, children, Dr. Eric (Nancy), Candace (Chris Kuhn), and Cheryl (Joe Cimino).  Her grandchildren, Eric, Thomas, and David Jenison, Tyson, Grace and Elizabeth Kuhn, Alison Murphy, and Emily Seay, Vinson, Carson and Gina Cimino, and numerous great-grandchildren, cousin, Dr. John Lee and Carolyn Borom. Preceding her in death were her parents, sister Bettye Tipton, and grandson, Douglas Jenison.

The family extends its deepest gratitude to Sarah Vance, Becky Smith, Loretta Mitchell, Pat Williams, and Sarah Holloway who lovingly provided care for Rosemary over the last few years. A special thanks to family friends Betty Simmons, Sara Carroll, Mike Ziegler, and Mark Johnson, who were always there when needed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ozark Dale County Human Society, PO Box 2502, Ozark, Alabama 36360 or the Vivian B Adams School, 2047 Stuart Tarter Road, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
