Royce K. Oder, 90, a resident of Dothan passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Plummer officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Oder was born August 26, 1926 in Florida and spent the early part of his life in Gordon, AL. He was a Veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army as a Medic. He resided in Tallahassee, FL for several years prior to moving to Dothan in 1964 where he was employed with Colonial Bread Company and later with Mutual Savings Insurance. He enjoyed the great outdoors and loved camping with his family and friends. Mr. Oder was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wm. Royce and Annie Oder, his daughters, Barbara Douglass and Debra Gilbert, his siblings, Margaret Oder Womack, Laura Oder Parrish, J.B. Oder, and Andrew Oder.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Celeste Oder; his sons, Kent (Shirley) Oder, Chuck (Jane) Oder, and Terry Oder; 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; his sister, Sara Sims.
